Carers UK Birmingham Branch

Carers UK is the voice of Carers. At the Birmingham Branch we provide information about what Carers UK does, i.e. to campaign nationally and locally to end the injustices that Carers face.
About Carers UK
Carers provide unpaid care by looking after an ill, frail or disabled family member, friend or partner. Carers give so much to society yet as a consequence of caring, they experience ill health, poverty and discrimination.
Carers UK is an organisation of Carers fighting to end this injustice. We will not stop until people recognise the true value of Carers' contribution to society and Carers get the practical, financial and emotional support they need. For more information about Carers UK, please see their website.
Carers UK Birmingham Branch
Campaigning
At the Birmingham Branch our aim is provide information and support to all our members and campaign on their behalf about issues that affect Carers locally. Membership is open to all unpaid Carers in Birmingham and members are encouraged to have a say in how the branch is run. Each member receives a quarterly newsletter which informs readers about the campaigns that Carers UK are involved in. We would really encourage you to consider becoming a member - you also become a member of the national Carers UK at the same time and it is free of charge! Our members are often surveyed about issues that are important to Carers - it really is an effective way of being heard and making a difference.
What else can members expect?
There is much more to membership than being involved in campaigning, however. Branch members contribute to the quarterly magazine, which could include information, jokes, recipies, restaurant recommendations etc. - a very entertaining read! You also have the opportunity to meet others who share the same experiences as you through two Support Groups that we run in North Birmingham (but open to all Birmingham residents) - please click here for more information.
So, if you are a Carer in Birmingham and are looking voice your concerns as well as finding support then Carers UK Birmingham Branch is looking forward to hearing from you.
