Freshwinds Information and Disability Advice service (FInDA) aims to work with individuals and families who require information and advice on welfare issues including employment and training, benefits, housing, debt and disability issues. The service is free, confidential and impartial.
Our money advice and debt counselling service is available to:
- Lone parents
- A family with a child that has disabilities.

- Signposting to specialist services
Money advice and debt counselling service:
- Ensure you are receipt of all income available to you
- Suggest ways in which your expenditure can be reduced
- Advise of budgeting techniques
- Negotiate with landlords and mortgage lenders on your behalf
- Mediate with utility suppliers, creditors, collection agencies and bailiffs
Much of our information is available in English, in leaflet form for you to take away. However, if you require any information in an alternative format, we will endeavour to meet your requirements.
Opening Hours
FInDA is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5.30pm.
The advice service operates on a telephone or appointment basis at Freshwinds charity, Selly Oak. There is a free car park and our premises have full disability access.
Where appropriate, appointments can be arranged at outreach venues. Please ask for more details of current venues visited. Home visits can be arranged when an individuals health or disability prevents them from visiting our centre.
