Midland Mencap Parent/Carer Support Groups

Midland Mencap, in partnership with Birmingham City Council, run two Parent/Carer Support Groups for women from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups, one in Handsworth and one in Sparkhill.

About the Groups

These friendly and welcoming groups meet once a month between 10:30am and 12:30pm and offer friendship and support.  
Refreshments are provided and we have speakers and workshops.  These mornings are interesting and varied - previous activities have included Bollywood Dance, aromatherapy, Yoga and healthy eating.  Trips are also sometimes arranged, for instance, to the Botanical Gardens. 

These are are just examples of what we do in the group, so, ladies, if you want to meet with others who share the same experiences as you do, and you want have a rewarding and interesting morning, then come along.

Who can attend?

Women from BME Communities who are Parent/ Carers.

When and Where?

These friendly and welcoming groups meet once a month between 10:30am and 12:30pm.   The dates for 2008 are yet to be set but will be posted as soon as we get confirmation.
