What is Healing?
Spiritual Healing is a completely natural process that promotes better health. The channelling of healing energies through the healer to the patient brings it about. It re-energizes and relaxes the patient so that his/her natural resources are enabled to deal with injury or illness in the best way possible. It can be helpful in a wide range of physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional conditions, sometimes to a remarkable degree.
In addition to its value in relieving pain and restoring function, healing is also notable for initiating improvements in patients' attitudes, clarity of thought and in their quality of life.
Anybody may receive spiritual healing, regardless of any religious denomination or creed. Healers never advise on medical matters and healing is completely non-diagnostic. Healers may not advise their patient against their doctor's advice and would stress that they must continue to take any medication prescribed by their medical advisor. They may not offer healing to children without parental consent nor may animals be offered healing unless they have first been seen by a vet. (Solihull Healers do not offer animal healing on a sessional basis.)
People who attend public healing sessions remain fully clothed and are seated on an upright chair during the healing process. They are asked to sit in a relaxed manner during healing and enquiries may be made by the healer into the nature of the issue which has brought the person for healing, but this is not vital and care is taken to try and retain confidentiality.
Healing normally takes between 15 and 20 minutes in a quiet and peaceful room and afterwards, the patient may be asked how they feel and if they have found it a positive experience. No other issues are discussed. The patient may be offered a glass of water after the healing before they depart.
Who are Solihull Healing Group?
Solihull Healing Group was set up in 1994 to offer healing to the general public. No fees are charged, but donations are welcomed to cover the costs of renting accommodation and minor running expenses. We also offer home visits to people who are not able, through ill-health to come to the public healing session.
Although the group itself is not affiliated with the National Federation of Spiritual Healers (NFSH), all the healers are members of the NFSH and therefore are obliged to follow the Code of Conduct and are covered by insurance.
The NFSH was founded in 1955 and is acknowledged to be the principal organisation for spiritual healing in the UK. It has more than 6000 members working individually and in NFSH Healing Centres throughout the country. The NFSH is not associated with any particular religion, -ism or -ology. It does see the source of healing as divine, but respects the right of every individual to his/her own interpretation of that source. The word "spiritual" in the title refers to that quality of spirituality implicit in the healing process.
Members of the NFSH have undertaken a lengthy course of training (at least four courses) and a period of personal development which lasts a minimum of two years.
Individuals seeking full healer membership are required to pass a practical and verbal examination which tests their ability to understand and comply with the Code of Conduct and to administer healing in the recognised NFSH manner.
All members of Solihull Healing Group are experienced healers and come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds with a deep commitment to the provision of healing support to individuals within the local community.
The Healing Group also offer experience to senior Probationer Healers who have completed their formal training courses and are seeking experience in offering healing to the public. Probationer healers offer healing under the supervision of full healer members of the NFSH.
