You and Your Helper - Passport to Leisure Card

Filed under:

How does the Card work?

This card is available under the Passport to Leisure scheme and it is available to a person with a physical, learning or sensory impairment that needs the support of a carer or helper to enable them to participate in physical activity within one of Birmingham City Council's Lesiure Centres, Community Leisure Centres or Swimming Pools.

The cared-for person applies and pays the appropriate Passport to Leisure price for their activities. The cardholder is entitled to 50% discount during general swimming sessions at all times. For most other activities, there are off-peak discounts (up to 50% maximum) available Monday - Friday until 5pm and after 1pm on Saturday and Sunday. Other organisations offer discounts at their discretion.  Their Carer, if only supporting the cared-for person, is allowed in free of charge.

What if the Carer wishes to participate in activities as well?

In the case of general swimming sessions, the carer is entitled to enter the pool free of charge. If the carer wishes to participate in other activities, they will be required to pay the relevant Passport to Leisure entry charge (see above).
