Do you want to gain work experience and a NVQ qualification?  Free Training Courses may be available in Business Admin or Customer Service (subject to funding).

Why Do We Need Your Skills?

We have been running a project offering individuals, from South West Birmingham, the opportunity to gain experience of working in our advice services, while working towards gaining a NVQ level 2 qualification.

        • We hope to have confirmation very soon of funding for the continuation of this project.
        • We are therefore still welcoming enquiries from people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds who live in Birmingham.

Throughout your NVQ qualification we would provide you with continuous support and guidance to help you achieve your full potential.  We would do all we could to make your placement a fulfilling, rewarding experience for all concerned, giving you new opportunities and the chance to work within our team.

What We Can Offer

There are many opportunities to gain experience on the project.  Ways you could help us include:
• Administration / Research
• Fundraising
• Working on the helpline

This will enable you to:
• Improve your CV and career prospects.
• Develop existing strengths and learn new skills.
• Help those in need within our communities.
• Make friends with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.

What Is Required?

We would require you to undertake a NVQ qualification while you are training. Your placement will last for approximately 3 months. You will need:
• Good communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Lots of enthusiasm

Assessment of the NVQ is based upon you gathering evidence of the work you undertake while training. There are no exams.  To participate in the scheme you would need to be able to attend two days per week. The hours can be flexible to suit your circumstances.  Travel expenses are available.

Our Commitment To You

Trainees will have supervision and support from a dedicated member of staff.
