Basic ICT for Carers
Basic ICT – An Introduction for Carers
Great opportunities are now available for Carers - we, at Opening Doors for Carers, are offering FREE Training for Carers in Basic ICT Skills.
Because of financial constraints and difficulties making time commitments, all too often Carers find that it is difficult to access training courses on Basic ICT Skills and Training.
At Opening Doors for Carers, we firmly believe that being a Carer should not exclude any individual from keeping abreast with current technology. This is why we are offering FREE training in Basic ICT Skills exclusively for Carers on Mondays at the Birmingham Carers Centre, 130 Colmore Row in the City Centre.
Our Carer Tutor and Development Worker, Chris Vinnicombe, is ready to introduce Carers to IT in a welcoming, friendly environment. She will discuss personal aims and objectives with each Carer and training will be personally tailored to the individual’s requirements. Chris will offer encouragement and support throughout the period of training and will continually check with each Carer that their requirements are being met.
To book training, Carers can call Chris on 0121 675 3440 (Mon or Tue, between 10am and 4pm). If you are a Carer who is wishing to take those first few brave steps into the world of ICT, Chris is really looking forward to hearing from you.
What happens after a Carer has learnt the Basics in ICT?
If a Carer wants to continue IT training beyond the basic level, then Chris will help identify suitable courses/training opportunities. This may be, for instance, at the Learning Centre in the Birmingham Central Library. As this is just a short distance from the Birmingham Carers Centre, she will be able to accompany Carers there and introduce them to people who will help them continue with their training.
